Cheap Samsung LNT4071F 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

Samsung LNT4071F 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

Great Value - Great Picture By G. Troutman
After waiting for years for that elusive HDTV with the most compelling mix of features, quality and price - here it is, at last! Some of the other reviewers pointed out a number of flaws with this unit, from the shiny screen and case to the ditzy remote to the 120Hz hijinks, etc. They're absolutely right, I admit: it's not perfect. But if you wait for the perfect set you'll spend many more months searching for it - months that you could have spent enjoying yourself watching THIS unit.

The picture quality is better than many plasma sets I've seen in friends' homes and in store displays. The contrast level is incredible for an LCD, displaying shadows that look like shadows, while still retaining the details in the dark areas. The range of video controls gives you quite a depth of control over the picture quality, and the unit even remembers the last video setting for each input, separately, so that you don't have to readjust when you change from cable to DVD to air antenna to PC to satellite to USB, etc. down the list of more inputs than most people will have reason to use. The unit has excellent audio for a TV, especially after you take time to tweak the many available sound options. The screen even physically swivels 20 degrees in either direction for optimum placement!

The Best TV I've Ever Had By David W. Chace
I saw one of these at an electronics store and was impressed with how far the technology had come, as I'd been visiting the store and looking at the latest 40" 1080p Samsung LCDs for over a year. This was the third model they put in that display slot in the time I had been keeping track.

The TV was for my bedroom so I had been thinking a smaller 37" model would be more suitable, but I had never actually seen a 37" 1080p TV in a store. As it turned out 40" was just about right, although a little bit wider than I would have hoped due to the built in speakers. Maybe my eyesight isn't what it used to be, but sitting about six feet from this set I find that a 40" diagonal isn't too big.

When I first saw this model at the store, and read about its new 120Hz refresh, I knew it was finally time to stop window shopping and buy my first 1080p television. So I went online and found it at Amazon for about less than what the store was charging, and I ordered.

A great TV By Linda J. Thomas

My husband and I researched HDTV's for a couple months, read about them, went to various stores to view them and ultimately decided on this HDTV. So far, we are more than pleased, lot's of things to learn about it, starting with the remote, but we are pleased. Amazon delivered what they advertised, and the HDTV was delivered very quickly. I would recommend this TV, and buying it from Amazon to anyone who is searching for this type of setup. By the way, we also bought the Blu Rey DVD player to go with it...it's very cool!!!

Classic Media brings us 7 Christmas specials in one gorgeous package in its "Original Christmas Classics" DVD collection. The headliners of this set are the three greatest Rankin/Bass Christmas TV specials of all-time: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and Santa Claus is Comin' to Town! In addition to these, we are treated to "The Little Drummer Boy", "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol", "Cricket on the Hearth", and "Frosty Returns". Plus, a CD of holiday music selections is even included as a bonus!

Complete Christmas Classics By Colliemom
Just wanted to say that "Siver and Gold" is right in there where it's supposed to be, right after The Misfits meet Yukon Cornelius. Plus there's a cute little scene at very end (not included in the broadcast TV version) where Yukon discovers a peppermint mine.. if your kids haven't seen these classics they're missing out!

Christmas Classics By John D. Downey
Clean video and audio. Family views over and over. Especially love the old Mr. Magoo Christmas Carol and The Little Drummer Boy from my childhood days; both of which are seldom ever shown on broadcast TV anymore.

Sharp AQUOS LC46LE700UN 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV

Sharp AQUOS LC46LE700UN 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV

No Buzz here... By Pugs
We love this TV, we love that it is a LED and saves energy too.
The picture is great, the sound is great, someone mentioned a buzz, we hear no buzz whatsoever.
I researched so many LCD LED TV's for so long, and was so glad we chose this one.
The Samsung 46 LED was priced at almost 3000.00 - we got this for a steal 1280.00.
The TV does take about 20 seconds to "turn on" but that does not bother me at all

Extreamelly Recomanded "LED TV" (Five Stars) By M. Alshamrani "XQ Gamer"
This TV is unbelievable - it has the best picture quality I have ever seen. Don't be fooled by the fetchers that Samsung and LG have. I compared this TV side by side with Samsung UN46B8000 and I liked the Sharp way more than the Samsung. My advice is to compare this TV with any other TV you intend to buy and see the difference your self. I strongly recommend this TV and if you don't like it I will buy it from you!!

Samsung LN52A650 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color

Samsung LN52A650 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color

Beautiful TV! From the picture to the bezel, just perfect. By Scomel
I've had this TV since very early March. I've watched HD, SD and Blu-Ray and can not find a flaw. The 650 handles motion extremely well to where blurring and other artifacts are vitually non-existant. The AMP is a very cool feature that brings a realism to film making it seem more life-like, or as if it were originally shot on HD Video. Some have said this gives off a "soap opera" effect. I can see that description, but to me it makes film based DVD's and movies look more like your watching a real-life play, viewing it through a window. It's a very cool effect!

Much talk has been about the TOC bezel. I think Samsung has hit it out of the park with this. I absolutely love the red. I think it adds just a touch of class. It sets this tv apart from all others(though the picture quality already does this) while still being very subtle and retaining the ability to blend in with any decor. Most people who've come to my home do not even notice the red until I point it out. I'm a little tired of every set looking the same with either a piano black bezel or flat black. This is a very welcome change.

Overall, this is best the LCD on the market. I can't see Sony or any of the other manufactures making a better TV this year. They may match it perhaps, but certainly won't surpass it. For those that were on the fence waiting to buy until the shut-off issue was fixed, your wait is over. Buy with complete confidence and enjoy one of the best TV's out there!

Samsung LN46A650 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color

Samsung LN46A650 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color

Simply Amazing By Winston Kzoo, MI "CrazyWin"
I have the 46" and I was amazed at how light it was. I was able to pick it up by myself and put it on the stand. The red is absolutely amazing. That's the favorite thing my Fiancée likes about this TV. Personally, I like the red because it is very subtle and goes great with our family room.

As I said earlier I play video games with my PS3, so the 120 hz refresher rate was critical to have. MLB the Show 08 is insane. Just looking at the players faces and even the fans blew me away. My brother has a 46" inch Vizio 1080P and he recommended it to me saying that there is not much difference from the two so I am better off saving. Let me tell you, he is absolutely wrong. I've watched his Vizio and to be honest, it can't even hold the jockstrap of the 46A650 if it was a male. There is a big difference believe me. The only TV that could probably match-up to this one is the XBR Bravia with 120HZ. That would've been what I would have purchased if I had not gotten this one. Up until now, I have absolutely no regrets.

Great HDTV - very happy with this purchase! By Geek "Owns His Geekness"
The 120hz mode works well, if you like the effect. Personally, I do not like it at all. It detracts from the film feel of a movie, and feels fake and processed. When watching Discovery HD, HD sports or something like that, I could see how you may want to use it, but I prefer watching HD content as delivered.

I have it paired with both a Toshiba HD-DVD player as well as a PS3. Both pictures are just phenomenal, especially the PS3. The 1080p resolution, combined with the 1080p/24 mode the PS3 outputs, is striking.

Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV Reception

Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV Reception

Out of my expectation, great job done by this small antenna! By L. Wu "Operations Techie"
I live in a small town in greater Cincinnati area, 16.5-20 miles from all the TV towers. Bought SONY 50 inch LCD Grand Wega TV days ago, and planed to install an outdoor HDTV antenna in my attic to receive OTA HD signal. Considering the complexity of running cable from the attic dowm to my family room, I decided to give a try on an indoor antenna. Bought the TERK HDTVa at a local Radio Shack store for about 50 bucks, and was told I can return it if it does not work. So, two minutes after I set the auto programming function of my SONY. I began to see the perfect HD picture from the local WCET PBS station, which is the first 24/7 HDTV station in Cincy area. It works very nicely. Picked all DTV signals from the local stations (Several even from Dayton, OH), Strong signal, perfect picture! NO problem whatsoever!

Get TV easily By I. Avneri "I"
Hello everyone,
I recently got the Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna because with hulu and netflix and so on I just did not want to pay for cable any more.

The video shows how easy it is to assemble the antenna, and hook it up to your TV.

I also try to show the not so good points of this product - how big it is, and the short antenna cable.

Overall, great product in my opinion - I hope you enjoy.

Terk Technology HDTVi VHF/UHF HDTV Indoor Antenna

Terk Technology HDTVi VHF/UHF HDTV Indoor Antenna

Great antenna By B. Chi
I bought this plasma TV set hoping I would be able to watch "Super Bowl" HD but instead, I had to settle for a slightly doubled imaged analog "Super Bowl". After trying all three antennae in various positions in my condo and ultimately using a longer coaxial, I pulled it out unto my balcony - no difference. No better.

After reading this site and AVS forum and other reviews, I finally settled on trying Terk HDTVi, an un-amplifited antenna with some skepticism since I had no luck with all my rabbit ears.

The set up was so easy. Through antennaweb.org, I found out where all Los Angeles' TV towers are and I aimed this unit in that general direction and I repeat my new plasma's channel auto-detection programming function and watched as it tallied up all the digital and non-digital channels it was now able to receive. According to antennaweb.org, I should be able to receive 31 digital channels. Well, by the end of autoprogramming cycle, my TV tallied over 45 digital channels and more than 15 non-digitals. I was ecstatic, and for the first time, I was able to get ABC HD and KCOP HD and some other in the high VHF band channels that I never knew existed.

Of course each owners' result will vary from location to location but I am most amazed and pleased with this unit esp. given its very reasonable price. Try it and hopefully your get as good of result as I have.

3 Port Smart HDMI Switch

3 Port Smart HDMI Switch

Works great, even better value By Charles Evans "Call me Kevin"
If you are reading this review you have probably shopped around and studied the various types of HDMI switches. I am happy to report (and show) that this could be the switch for you. Installing is easy (as you would expect) taking less than 5 minutes. Video quality appears to be great (I can't tell a difference between using the switch and directly wiring the HDMI and bypassing the switch).

The best feature is the price! This unit is about 50% less than any other HDMI switch on the market.

Awesome, once you understand it. By SMG
At first, I opened the HDMI switcher. It didn't have a power adapter. So, I read the directions. "Works when connected to power source". But no adapter was provided. I went to Best Buy, got one of those generic plugs. Hooked it all up, nothing worked. Needed a 5V adapter and all they had was one that would switch from 4.5 to 6 V. Needless to say, i was pretty upset. Then, i signed on to Amazon here, and read everyone else's reviews.

They said it doesn't need the power adapter. So skeptically, I disconnected the adapter, hooked everything else back up. And sure enough, works like a charm. The remote doesn't work, but like everyone else says, you don't need it as long as you power down all of the other devices that are connected to the HDMI Switcher. Then you just power up what you want, and it automatically goes to that device.

DVDO EDGE High-Definition Video Processor

DVDO EDGE High-Definition Video Processor

High Technology and Simplicity Combined By Rick Raymo "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"
After having owned numerous 'line-doublers' (all the way back to Faroudja upscaling my 480i sources to 480p for my first home theater,) and innumerable HDMI switchers, I have finally found one that takes the alphabet soup of HDMI versions and handles it with aplomb while being the cleanest and most easy to use upscaler to 1080p that I've touched to date.
So, after having issues with HDCP handshakes, HDMI versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3a, and 1.3b not playing well with most autoswitching units--this product from DVDO does all of the above with aplomb.
Want to take your upscaling DVD player, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, TiVo HD, Wii, and more and mix and match audio inputs to a single optical output? Done.
Want them all at true 1080p (including your wee-little wii?) Done.
Want to get rid of the "Sugar/Mosquito-Noise/Sparkle issue from compression of your HD inbound signal? Nicely done.
Want to see everything pop better on your HD screen without looking artificially processed? Simply Done.
Want power-on priority for various units in your system (the TiVo comes before the Xbox 360, and the Denon 2930ci comes before the PS3?) Again, done and done well.
Add a simple remote, ability to tweak at will (should you even want to) and you have a massive winner of a product.

Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder

Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder

Great for recording video game consoles

By Maureen Swan
To start off, I'm writing this review solely from the perspective of someone using this to record footage from video game consoles (an Xbox 360, in my case), because that's why I bought it and that's all I've used it for so far.

One of the great things about the HD PVR is that it does all of the H.264 encoding on the box itself. In other words, you won't need a high-end PC to record in HD because the HD PVR does all of the heavy processing. You will need a high-end PC to watch and edit HD video, however. Unless you're just archiving or using the PC as a storage device (and then accessing the recorded videos on your 360, for instance), you're going to want a high-end PC to edit and playback the video that you record. There's simply no getting around this: if you want to produce videos in HD, you're going to need the tools for it.

The preview window provides smooth, full-quality video. There is a significant amount of lag between the source and the software preview window, however. If you were hoping to sit at your PC and play by watching the preview window, you can forget it. The input lag will make it impossible.
